Meet the Team: Brittany Rhoade

After obtaining her Registered Nurse License in 2012, Brittany spent two years working in Wilderness and Residential Therapy Programs. The next three years she spent as a Resident Hall Director at her Alma Mater. She has a passion for supporting others as they walk through challenges or transitions and loves allowing the outdoors to be the setting for growth and change in our lives.

In 2020, Brittany co-founded Inner Trek Guides with her husband and brother. Inner Trek offers nature-based therapy services with certified therapists and clinicians. This includes individual counseling, group counseling, adventure-based counseling and therapy trips. We love what Inner Trek is all about! In October 2024, Inner Trek hosted a two-night Mom’s Retreat at Caesar’s Creek state park which several Imagine Cincinnati parents were thankful to attend.

We met Brittany through our friends at Cincinnati Mennonite Fellowship (CMF) in Oakley, where the Rhoade family attends church. As a progressive, LGBTQ affirming, peace and justice-focused congregation, CMF is investing in spaces for families of all backgrounds through renovating their indoor and outdoor spaces to host our “Care-Free Families” Thursday playgroup.

Brittany is currently the interim family ministry leader of CMF and the Co-Leader of our Thursday Playgroup in Oakley. She’s also the one who makes our garden grow in Oakley, sharing her love and experience of vegetable gardening and cooking with our families every week!

These days Brittany spends the majority of her time with her four amazing children; Eli (8), Isaac (8), Lillian (5), and Eleanor (18 months). They spend their days playing, homeschooling, and taking care of their home in Madisonville. You can often find Brittany going for a hike, enjoying coffee on her front porch, gardening and playing in the backyard with her kids.

I’ve found such refreshment and joy in the outdoors, and I love making wilderness experiences feel attainable for families in every stage of life! Brittany
